Matthew explains how Feiere taught 300 people how to read and write, to be literate By this happening he helped the Brazilian culture better themselves. Being literate is the most important think to be able to succeed in the community. Without literacy one can not read, write, and most importantly vote, and help the country change. Later after the changes he made in Brazil he was imprisoned for 70 days which actually ended up being positive, because he was forced to exile his country. With being forced to exile he could go to other countries and spread his ideas to different countries.

Stephanie's Blog:
Stephanie explains Friere's way of teaching his philosophy of praxis the process of which reflection becomes action. His way of teaching was different than the common education his involves learning from students as well as educating. Friere believed education should not be simple information into students heads like the government demands. Friere thinks the current education system is dehumanizing He believes education to be an act of liberation, that one learns from the world not just from a teacher. Friere's method of teaching is to humanize students, to think critically, use critical action.

I believe that Friere's idea's do relate to this class. In this class we all learn from each other, as well as being educated. We are free to look at other students blog posts, and are actually encouraged to. I have learned a variety of information from other students by reading their blog posts. When we have assignments we have directions but also freedom to choose how we want to do the assignment. For example this assignment we were able to choose whatever classmate me wanted to. For another assignment we could choose between different cultures, whichever one we felt we were interested in. Both are ways this class can relate to Friere's ideas.
